About

Trustee Maria Lourdes Doria-Velarde, 57 years old, was appointed as Pag-IBIG Fund Trustee on 14 February 2024 as Private Employers’ Representative.


Trustee Velarde started her career in the construction industry managing the areas of purchasing, procurement, materials management, as well as documentation and compliance.


Trustee Velarde served in government when in 1998, she was tapped as Senior Consultant for Social Services of the Office of the Vice President of the Philippines. In 2001, she was also tapped as Consultant for Special Affairs under the Office of the President, while handling directorship positions in IBC-13 and Nayon Pilipino Foundation Inc. She also held the position of Deputy General Manager for Administration for Duty Free Philippines Corporation (DFPC) from 2004 until 2016, where she played an active role in institutionalizing the implementation of RA 9184 for the corporation – a role she has gained familiarity and expertise with owing her previous experiences in the private sector.


In 2018, Trustee Velarde pursued her passion for culinary arts. In 2020, she utilized social media to create content and share her love for good food and culinary experience. She currently has 74,000 Instagram followers and 86,000 TikTok followers with whom she shares her reviews on food brands, hotels & restaurants.


Trustee Velarde completed her bachelor’s degree in Architecture at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila in 1989. In 1992, she pursued further studies in Associate Studies in Media Broadcasting from the College of San Mateo in California, USA. In 2018, she also received a Diploma in Culinary Arts from the Global Academy Philippines.



Trustee Velarde is currently a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors, as well as the Procurement and Sourcing Institute of Asia.
