Proficient government leader Sec. Alfredo E. Pascual, Filipino, 74 years old, was appointed as the Secretary for the Department of Trade and Industry on 30 June 2022, and also serves as ex-officio member of Pag-IBIG Fund Board of Trustees.
When he was appointed as the Secretary for the Department of Trade and Industry, Sec. Pascual has been serving as the President of the Management Association of the Philippines (MAP). In 2019, he was also the President and CEO of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD). He also served two leadership roles in the UP System, first as a Alumni Regent back in 2010 and then as the President and Co-Chair during 2011 to 2017.
From 1989 to 2008, he also served in Asian Development Bank as a Director for Private Sector Operations, Director for Project Finance, and Advisor for Public-Private Partnership. Formerly, he was an Independent Board Director of the SM Investments, Megawide Construction, and Concepcion Industrial.
Sec. Pascual completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry as a cum laude in the University of the Philippines. He also pursued his Master of Business Administration in Chemistry from the same university. He also attended the EC-ASEAN Program on Strategic and Organizational Change at the Euro-Asia Centre, Campus INSEAD, France.
