About

Chief Executive Officer Marilene C. Acosta, Filipino, 61 years old, was appointed as head of Pag-IBIG Fund on 19 September 2022.

CEO Acosta, who hails from Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, is a certified public accountant and career public servant who has been with Pag-IBIG Fund for 41 years.

She also spearheaded the agency’s Home Lending Operations Cluster as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, focused on ably fulfilling one of the mandates of Pag-IBIG Fund of providing a home for every Filipino worker. Through her leadership, Pag-IBIG Fund has released the highest ever amount of housing loans in a single year. In 2021, Pag-IBIG Fund released P100.8 billion in housing loans, consisting of P97.3 billion in loan takeouts and P3.5 billion under interim releases, which granted 94,533 number of homes to benefit 102,938 Filipino workers.

From 2017 to 2021, Pag-IBIG Fund released P388.13 billion in housing loans, nearly doubling the P207.60 billion released from 2012 to 2016. This, in turn, benefitted a record-high 448,110 Filipino workers who secured new homes over the past 5 years, an impressive 58% increase from the 284,142 during the previous 5-year period.

CEO Acosta also led the cluster in maintaining a healthy housing loan portfolio. This allows Pag-IBIG Fund to maintain a strong fiscal standing and keep its home loan interest rates low.

She has also led the implementation of several programs to help Pag-IBIG Housing Loan borrowers secure and keep their homes amid the pandemic. These include the grant of grace periods under the Bayanihan Acts I and II, the P10 billion stimulus package for the housing industry to ensure the continued production of housing units, special promo rates in July to December 2020 which encouraged and helped members in securing housing loans, Special Housing Loan Restructuring Programs and the Home Saver Programs which have allowed delinquent housing loan borrowers to update their accounts, among others.
