Pag-IBIG acquired assets set for sale in
biggest Housing Fair
The Pag-IBIG Fund, one of the country’s leading housing agencies, is putting up for sale its acquired assets during the biggest Housing Fair slated to happen on October 27 and 28, 2006 at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City. This was announced by Pag-IBIG President & Chief Executive Officer, Atty. Romero F.S. Quimbo, following the recent launching of the annual fair in Davao City.
“This is a good opportunity for our members, especially those working in the government, to finally realize their dream of owning houses at very affordable rates and liberal terms,” the Pag-IBIG CEO said.
A total of 5,898 shelter units are available to Pag-IBIG members who wish to own houses in areas near Metro Manila, including the provinces of Cavite and Rizal, Calamba, and San Jose in Bulacan. Members can also choose from house and lot packages located in various parts of Northern and Southern Luzon. Aside from these properties, Pag-IBIG is also putting up for sale housing units in the Visayas, as well as several locations in Mindanao.
The Fund’s acquired assets may be purchased in cash or through the availment of a Pag-IBIG housing loan. Loans below P300,000 will be charged an interest of six percent per annum. Meanwhile, loans more than P300,000 have a corresponding interest rate of nine percent. The loan may be paid for as long as 30 years. The loan term, however, must not exceed the member-borrower’s 65 th birthday.
Big discounts will be given to buyers who will purchase the properties in cash or will pay in full during the fair.
The 2006 Housing Fair is sponsored by the Housing & Urban Development Coordinating Council headed by Vice President Noli “Kabayan” De Castro in cooperation with the Pag-IBIG Fund and the other shelter agencies. Also participating in the fair are government financial institutions Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Land Bank, PDIC, GSIS and SSS; and private developer groups. (end)
